WikiSleuth's Purpose

Wikipedia's page history does not allow for an editor to find the history of an inconsistent or unusual segment of text on a Wikipedia page. In essence, WikiSleuth's primary objective is to make the user's experience better by making information about inconsistent segments of text easily obtainable. In most cases, finding a revision that affects a given portion of text can take minutes. With WikiSleuth, this process takes seconds.

Heatmap

WikiSleuth also has a heatmap feature that allows the user to gauge how long a particular sentence has remained as is on the Wikipedia page.

WikiSleuth's heatmap colors the Wikipedia article sentence by sentence. Sentences colored blue are considered cold spots, where cold sentences are those that have not been changed for a long period of time. Sentences colored red are considered hot spots, where hot sentences are those that have been changed very recently.
In this way, the Wikipedia editor can gauge how frequently the page in question has been updated, and provide insight into the accuracy of the article.
