About Us

Who is Team VECTr?

In short, we are a collaborative tree visualization team led by Professor Eric Alexander.

Team VECTr is a group of seniors from the Carleton College Computer Science department who were gathered to tackle the clonal tree visualization problem.
We were tasked with creating a tool that allows computational biologists and other interested folks to visualize clonal trees

Through consultations with Dr. Layla Oesper, a computational biologist, we determined some of the most relevant pieces of information that would be important to visualize. This included visualizing tree topology, important mutations, and mutation information to name a few pieces. Professor Eric Alexander, our comps advisor also helped us by identifying avenues for us to explore. Our diverse team of students brought new experiences and made VECTr the tool that it is today.
