For our comps, we had the opportunity to work with community partners at Northfield Area Learning Center (ALC). The Northfield ALC is a school that provides safe and supportive non-traditional learning environment for students. They provide lunch for their students every day but currently use a time-consuming and labor-intensive paper-based system to order lunch. Our comps focused on making this process more efficient and easier for the school administrators. We created a website that students could order lunch on and that administrators could use to keep track of the lunch ordering process.
At the login page, login with student full name and password or select "Staff".
Edit student list, view recent orders, download excel sheet, and edit daily menu.
After logging in, choose entree and milk choice.
With an authorized staff login, administrators at the Northfield ALC can access the staff dashboard. Students have a very similar looking page.
Alphabetized list of all students with order status indication. Add or remove students from the clipboard.
This is used to have a live view of what students are ordering. This section shows the time of order and what it is.
After everyone has ordered lunch, administrators can use the excel download to get an excel sheet of all the orders so that they can send it over to the high school.
Administrators can keep track of the menu for the day and alter it if needed.
Students can use this page to order their lunch. They are allowed to order one entree and one drink per day. The page is formatted to be functional on laptop or phone. On days where the students don't have school (like weekends), the order form will redirect them to a separate page.
