Carleton Energy Database and Analytics
Carleton's energy facilities supply us with vast amounts of data on the devices that heat, cool, turn on/off, and much more on Carleton’s campus. Well-applied Energy Analytics techniques could help the Facilities Department automate the detection of problems that would assist Carleton in reaching its goal of Carbon Neutrality by 2050. In this project, we explored anomaly detection techniques such as Seasonal Trend LOESS decomposition, Heuristic models, and Isolation Forests to detect anomalous device behavior. We also laid the groundwork for future teams to expand on our analysis and collaborate with other teams by improving the documentation of the API using Postman, as well as standardizing the database according to the Brick naming standard.
