Our Inspiration
Our project is based on a paper presented at the 2018 Intelligent User Interfaces conference in Tokyo. We chose to implement one of the two approaches to collaborative human/AI creative writing described in this paper: a storytelling system in which the user takes turns writing sentences with an AI. We explored the neural network-based implementation the authors described and compared it to a simple n-gram text-generation model.
