One of the best ways to make sure your own app designs are pleasant and effective for your users is to look at other apps and see what they do well. We're going to use our mini-crowd to crowd-source the search for user interface techniques, tricks, and idioms that we all should be aware of.
Before class on Friday, May 2, find two UI design ideas that you think are worth sharing. Post screenshots and (only if necessary) short explanations of the ideas in Piazza. (Please post them non-anonymously.)
You can do this even if you don't have a smartphone or tablet. You can explore the built-in apps that appear in the emulators. You can also explore the screenshots that app vendors post on the stores to entice people to buy.
