CS 127 Data Structures
Winter 2004
For C++ programmers making the transition to Java
- Java tutorial for C++ programmers,
by Marvin Solomon of the University of Wisconsin.
- Close to the beginning of CS117, I have my students run through
a few example programs that demonstrate some elementary
Java concepts. You can see them at
the programs page for my Winter 2003 CS117 class.
Note that these examples use a package called "javabook," which was
written by C. Thomas Wu, the author of our CS117 textbook. The
javabook classes simplify input and output a little bit, but
Wu's latest edition doesn't use them anymore, and neither do
we. One interesting exercise for you might be to translate
the I/O for these programs into more conventional Java I/O
using System.out and System.in.
