Hacking Target1

You can do this one as an individual or in any convenient partnership (doesn't have to be with your teammates).

What to do

• Grab a copy of somebody else's Target1 off the iMac in Olin 302
• Before you start, post on Slack in #general whose Target1 you're going to try to hack (include all names of the hackers if you're working with others). I'm going to make sure that every Target1 gets at least a couple attempts to hack it.
• Import their Target1 into your UTM/VMWare installation and try hack it (either from your host machine or from your Kali)
• Stuck? Post specific questions in #questions
• Finished hacking? Tell us how it went for you without revealing all the secrets.
• Repeat once, or more if you wish

We'll discuss general approaches in class 1/19 and 1/22, and then we'll discuss everyone's experiences with the hacking process in class on 1/24.
