For Tuesday Week 6 Research on other artists working in interactive art will culminate in a 4 to 6 minute (longer is not better) powerpoint or similar presentation (week 6). Here you will describe to the class the work of an artist who made you think about the discipline of interactive sculpture in a new way.

Start looking for contemporary artists that interest you. Look in the Libe, artstor database, Art Museum Image Galleryart index, in the magazines at the Libe, and the lounge.

This will be a powerpoint presentation, or some software variant, that you will hand in to us via moodle and present to the class. The presentation should include some biographical info, several images of the artists work and perhaps supplemental images, as well as a final listing of all your source material (bibliography). Have notes, or cards, so you can stay on track and be as focused and articulate as possible.

As for “just how many images are enough” a good rule of thumb is one or 2 per minute, so 6 to 10 should work. Videos are ok too, BUT Remember to test this out for timing first. We will be on a mac or PC in Boliou 104 Put your presentation on a flash drive - oer email it to yourself, AND turn it in on Moodle FOR BEST PROTECTION. You are also free to bring your own laptop, but check to make sure that we have the proper adapter if it is a fancy new mac (they come with a bunch of weird ones) – but you must put a copy of your presentation in moodle in your name – this is my evaluation copy. If this makes no sense to you, the folks at scic can help with the computer stuff and you can check with me if you have any questions as well.

Your charge is to talk about why the artist you picked makes you think about interactive sculpture in a new way – and relate this to the images you present. Make why you love the artist (or at least like a bunch) clear to us.
