11:59p. It's an individual assignment.
- The first exam will be held in class on Wednesday, 1 February
2006. Coverage is through the end of recursion (i.e, about the first
half of class on Monday, 30 January 2006), including the first three
assignments, the first 11.5 classes, and all of the assigned reading.
Here
is a previous exam that was given in CS127 in Fall 2004. It's in Word
format, so apologies to those (like me!) without Word access (though abiword on
the mathcs machines should do reasonably). You can also look at another exam
given in Fall 2005, though note that it was an in-lab exam (typing rather than writing). Doing the problems in the book (both programming problems and exercises) is another great way to prepare.
- PS2 is due on Monday, 23 January 2006, at
11:59p. Your design document is due on Friday, 20 January 2006, at
7:00p.
- Peer evaluations for PS1 are due on Monday, 16 January 2006, at 11:59p.
- Sign up here for
the Carleton Sentinel, the mailing list of the CS community at
Carleton!
- PS1 is due on Sunday, 15 January 2006, at
11:59p.
- Check to make sure that you can log in to the CMC lab machines,
either by going to CMC 304/306 or by SSHing into
prism.mathcs.carleton.edu. Let me or Mike Tie know if you can't!
- Here
is the information about installing Java on your own computer, for
those who were asking.
- Groups have been assigned for the first few assignments. They
were sent out by email on Saturday morning, 7 January 2006. Please
let me know if you didn't receive a group assignment!
- Prefecting sessions have been scheduled for 7pm on Sundays and 6pm
on Tuesdays, CMC 319. Feel free to drop by!
- PS0 is due on Friday, 6 January 2006.
- There is a form for office-hours scheduling
available. Please fill it out as soon as possible, but no later than
31 December 2005 -- be sure to include your email address -- and I'll
schedule office hours in the near future.
- If you email me regarding the class, please include "CS127" in the
subject line.
