Rachel Adams likes computers and telling them to do things. She is terrified of windmills and believes someday they will gain sentience and rise up like the tripods in War of the Worlds. This makes living in Northfield, Minnesota, with three windmills within a few miles of her home, very difficult for her.
Joe Brown is an HCI enthusiast. In his free time, Joe is constantly tweaking his voice and gesture controlled dubstep lightshow. In even more of his free time, Joe is currently climbing rocks, such write a doge-meme generator website, learning to play guitar (poorly), and making a light-up longboard (soon). While at first Joe seems serious verging on severe, it becomes increasingly clear through contact that Joe is a large child entertained by flashing lights, bad grammar, and most of all seeing a project come to fruition.

Frederick Stein, in the course of trying to become a real programmer, has poorly recreated the Nintendo game Fire Emblem in Python, ssh-ed into other computers to make them say "Hello!" and raged at WPF animations on more than one occasion. While not staring at computer screens, Frederick does theater, which means that he then has no free time. His life-long goal is to produce the first version of "Hamlet in Space" by 2040.
Grace Whitmore is a computer science major. Grace also likes French and Spanish. Grace likes playing music and frisbee too. This is most of what Grace does. Grace likes computer science like she likes old Evans. Kind of hard to get at first, but very much worth the time spent understanding it.
