Welcome To Fast and Futuristic: Intersection Management and Lane Navigation for Autonomous Vehicles!

The future of transportation is Autonomous. Autonomous vehicles, more commonly known as self-driving cars, are one of the biggest technological innovations under development today. Taking the human component out of transportation allows for safer and more efficient travel.

Over the course of a few months, our team of Carleton College seniors developed a simulation of a self driving car. Our system includes much of the functionality required of a car travelling in the real world. Our vehicle can make decisions independently, and react to a number of different situations. These situations include driving on straight and curved roads, overtaking another vehicle in the same lane, and traversing an intersection while coordinating with other autonomous vehicles.
